I'm Amy Hunter, the owner and groomer of Style & Grace Pet Salon. Thanks to my wonderful clients, I have been grooming since 2005, and business just keeps getting better!

I have worked with animals for several years. As a teenager, I volunteered at a local Animal Hospital where I did the "dirty work" asa kennel worker: I fed the dogs and cats, gave them their medications, and washed the laundry. I also volunteered with the Saint John SPCA, as a member of its Fundraising and Education Committee.

In high school, I took my co-op education class with a local groomer to gain experience in the grooming field. I knew then that this was the job for me, and in August 2005, I headed to London, Ontario to Pets Beautiful Inc. Grooming School. There, I completed an intensive two-month course. Although I was the youngest student in the course, I graduated at the top of my class, with honours.

Returning to Saint John, I accepted a job with a groomer who took me on as a co-op student. I worked there for a year and a half to gain more experience and to gain a clientele. It was then time for me to open my own shop. Enterprise Saint John helped me prepare a proper business plan, and in August 2007, I opened Style & Grace Pet Salon on Rothesay Ave. I never had any doubts, because I knew my regular clients were behind me all the way.
